Pandelela Rinong ternyata tidak menghampakan sandaran negara terhadapnya apabila dia menghasilkan pingat kedua Olimpik buat kontinjen Malaysia, selepas menduduki tempat ketiga saingan akhir 10m platform wanita individu, awal pagi tadi.

Gadis Bidayuh berusia 19 tahun itu bangkit daripada terjunan hambar pada cubaan pertama dan menamatkan saingan lima terjunan dengan 359.20 mata, di belakang Chen Ruolin dari China yang unggul mempertahankan gelarannya dengan 422.30 mata dan perak milik penerjun Australia, Brittany Broben (366.50).

Ia merupakan pingat kedua buat kontinjen negara selepas perak yang disumbangkan Datuk Lee Chong Wei, Ahad lalu, sekaligus memperbaiki persembahan Malaysia pada Beijing 2008. Tahniah kepada Pandelela kerana telah mengharumkan nama negara di pentas dunia dan ini satu penghormatan kepada Malaysia dimana berjaya meraih 1 perak dan 1 gangsa di kejohanan olimpik yang menemukan jaguh seluruh dunia.
